The works consist of the renovation of the Francica tunnel on the Vibo Valentia – Pizzo Calabro railway line.
Requirement.
Reducing vibrations caused by passing trains is essential, especially in tunnels and near urban centres.
Suggested solution.
At the same time as the substructure was being rebuilt and renovated, an under ballast mat MATRACK 25 AVC 600 was used.
Result.
The use of the mat reduced vibrations to the structure and the tunnel, lowering maintenance costs and improving the quality of life for people living near the line.
