The project involves the construction of three tram lines, “Roccella”, “Leonardo da Vinci” and “CEP-Calatafimi”, which will integrate synergically with other infrastructures.
Requirement.
Increasing tram traffic between the suburbs of Palermo and the city centre via the underground and railway, minimising noise and vibrations in the vicinity of the city centre.
Suggested solution.
The solution adopted involved the use of a track system that minimises noise and vibrations through the use of elastic anti-vibration mats MATRACK 25 AVC 500 and MATRACK 15 AVC 600 which prevent vibrations from being transmitted to the surrounding ground, as well as silent rails, that is, rails completely wrapped in PROTRACK CLASSIC side profiles to reduce the noise and vibrations generated by contact between the wheel and the rail.
Result.
The track system adopted reduced noise and vibrations caused by trams travelling along the line.
