The project involves upgrading the Bo – Ve high-speed line with a new railway bridge. The project will enable the last high-speed trains currently running on the surface tracks to be removed, speeding up an important national rail traffic route. The link track between Bologna’s new underground station and the historic line to Venice will pass under the city’s ring road, crossing the carriageways of the A14 motorway and the ring road by means of a long bridge.
Requirement.
Increasing rail traffic on the BO-VE high-speed line in the Bologna junction, requiring the construction of a bridge over the A14 motorway and the ring road.
Suggested solution.
The solution adopted involved the insertion of an anti-vibration mat MATRACK 20 AVC 700 to mitigate vibrations in the transition area between the steel bridge and the adjacent line.
Result.
Compliance with the directives enabled the infrastructure to be upgraded, making the line more functional and innovative and reducing railway vibrations from passing trains.
